Thank you so much to Roz Sawyer for organising her BOOBWalk fundraiser in Wellington last month with the proceeds benefitting Shocking Pink. As a 100% volunteer run organisation that relies completely on community support for funds, it’s support like this that keeps us going and helps fund our retreats, grants and support groups.
On the 23rd of June a group of friends and I did what we refer to as the BOOBwalk. It was a pub crawl fundraiser for Shocking pink.
We met in Wellington CBD at the Bresolin, moved on to Ombra, then to Ortega Fish Shack for Dinner and lastly to Bangalore Polo club for some dancing. Hence the name – BOOBwalk. We then headed off to Dirty Little Secret because we were having so much fun.
Our group of girls ranged from early 30s to mid 50s. 2 of us had been touched by Breast Cancer. The rest of the group were there for love and support and a good time – where there was no shortage of.
We had raffles up for grabs and congratulations to our winners.
Overall, 11 girls had the best night in town for a great cause. We are already planning out next one.
