Hi. I would love to join this group. I’m 38, live in Hamilton and was recently diagnosed. I had a portacath fitted yesterday and am due to start chemo on Wednesday with surgery after 4 cycles. So far it’s been a bit of a roller coaster and, despite a very supportive husband, is quite a lonely experience. I don’t know anyone else who’s been through this so would be great to be connected with other people who are going/have gone through this.

I would love to join this group. I was diagnosed Nov 2011 and spent all of 2012 having chemo, surgery and radiation therapy.

Hi, your facebook page was introduced to me by a friend Phillipa Warren, who is from Christchurch, and now living in Adelaide, AUS.
I was diagnosed in 2008 at the age of 33, I am now 38 yrs old with hormone responsive, metastatic BC to bones and recently liver.
I was very inspired to hear via Phillipa that you have set up this support group, and wanted to make contact. Well done to you both!
I never in a million years thought I would be treated for breast cancer at 33 years old, but hey, here I am. This is NOT a disease of ‘older’ women. I was shocked to learn of the number of young women dealing with breast cancer along with me.
I feel a responsibility to create greater awareness of cancer in general amongst the younger population. However, I have only created awareness in the people around me, what you are doing here has really motivated me too make more of a difference.
