30 hours 4 flights and 2 car journeys to get to C4YW and worth every minute!
| March 31, 2012 | Posted by Cheryle Robins under Blog, News |
The annual C4YW conference for young women affected by breast cancer takes place in the US and is a joint venture between the Young Survival Coalition (YSC) and Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC).
This year we were both lucky enough to each receive a partial travel grant and so with a little help from our friends (and a whole lot of swimming) we made the epic journey to New Orleans last month, took in a little Mardi Gras and a whole lot of useful information for us young things on this breast cancer journey or YWBC as we shall be known from now on (might as well join in on those abbreviations!).

Yes! at 11.30 on Tuesday 31st January 2012 I finally made it to the Lyttelton epicentre!
The results are in…
44kms
30 days (26 of them swimming)
26 mugshots
1760 lengths
23 or so hours in the water
The Most to Most – Time to up the ante!
| January 23, 2012 | Posted by Cheryle Robins under Blog, News |
Today is day 22 of my challenge meaning I’ll only have 8 more days to go after today.
As of today (pre-swim) I have…
Swam 26.5 kms -that’s 1060 lengths
Spent aproximately 13 hours in the water
Bought and posed with 20 daily newspapers
Reached my initial fundraising target of $2400 with generous donations from friends, family and kind members of the public.
Still 9 swims to go – what to do with the rest of the time? …
How about I up the ante and make it from one earthquake epicentre to another?
